-Available on DVD: no ?
B&W or color: b&w
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Virginia Weidler as orphan and an older teen boy wearing Cowboy hats. There’s also 6 or 7 yo but older looking Mickey Kuhn as 5 yo Bobby, but probably not in Western clothers. This is not a Western.

I don’t know the complete movie and found it by coincidence.

More movies about Virginia Weidler on my pigtails blog.

Rating 3 for now for this scene. I think not officially on DVD.

I don’t know this series but it looks great.

Obviously not on DVD. Also starring Mark Hamill. 13 episodes had been produced (aired only 8, 4+4).

Rating 6 for now.

Gunsmoke (1955) – season 20

I have posted some more episodes of season 20 on both my bib overalls and pigtails blogs, so boys and girls. Some more posts also coming there later.

Please check out my other blogs for more infos and pics.

No need for posting everything twice. Pic from s20e13 (2 boys in overalls).

Hot Lead and Cold Feet

Disney Comedy Western
-Year: 1978
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Roxanne ~11, Pete 12 ?
-Available on DVD: yes
B&W or color: color
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium+ ?
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least these boy and girl, probably Michael Sharrett and Debbie Lytton. Boy in a dark vest and also without. Also in a dark brown hat. Also both in blue caps and I think night shirts. At least one more, a bit older boy.

I found a brief clip on one of my backup discs searching for my shiny shorts blog.

I don’t remember the complete movie and have to recheck it later.

Sorry, I’m still very busy and currently rarely watch Westerns.

Rating 5-6 for now. Quite interesting but there are better movies. Starring Jim Dale.

Barney & Friends

Kids films /series, with the friendly purple dinosaur
-Year: 1991-2011
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: boys, girls ~8-11 ?
-Available on DVD: yes
B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating: 6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least 2 boys and 2 girls in episode “Howdy, Friends” (s5e9, 1998, pictured) in simple Western costumes including hats. Also some riding. At least one girl in a long blonde braid. And men (musical band) in Western clothes. Rating 4-5 for this episode.

I later found a pic, even better (rating 6) of the song “My Jeans Are Always Blue” with boy (and a girl) wearing chaps. And a girl wearing blue jeans and a red scarf. Not sure if it’s from this episode as this song was used in different episodes.

Another good Western scene in the song “Turkey in the Straw (Barney’s Version)” first appeared in Barney’s Adventure Bus (1997) also with boys (and girls) wearing chaps (rating around 5-6).

And another scene including boys and atr least 2 teen girls in s11e9 song “Trail Boss Barney.

I have to check more episodes. Also shown several kids in overalls (overalls blog rating 7).

Also on my overalls blog “Gunsmoke s20e13) with 2 young boys wearing overalls, rating 4.

Update: Father Murphy

Yesterday, I have rechecked some episodes, and this LHOTP spin-off is very good, maybe even better than the original series (except for pigtailed Laura of course). New and much more different boy and girl actors including a light blonde and other handsome boys. Good setting including bunk beds (rating 6). There are also boys riding (ep The Dream Day).

I still haven’t seen the complete series and have chosen these pics.

Pic 1 showing some of the kids in rather colorful clothes (for these days). As usual boys wearing pants with suspenders. Some also bib overalls (rating 6 on my other blog).

Also many girls in pigtails, soon on that blog, rating 6 as well. Main entry here, previousy rated 5 now at least 7.

Sorry, that I don’t post more entries. I’m currently very busy and there are few Westerns on TV.

Update: Gunsmoke (1955) s20e7

2 more pics of Eric Olson as announced. Also showing wearing a hat and jacket (brief scene at the end) and a headshot to show how the actor looked like in 1974 (one year before “The Swiss Family Robinson”).

Sorry, I’m currently very busy and rarely watch Western movies, especially not online. And there are few of them on TV.

Please also check my new pigtails blog, or my other blogs or the archives.

Gunsmoke (1955) s20e7

The final season (1974). I think this is obviously Eric Olson “The Swiss Family Robinson (1975)”

Beige pants and typical suspenders. At the end also with a (suit ?) and a hat.

More pics later.

Somehow I don’t like him here. Maybe because of the German dubbing voice. He’s also quite young.

Rating 4 for now only.

Main entry rating up to 9

Update of this episode:

Un château en Espagne (2007)

Comedy film
-Year: 2007
-Country: France
-Who in clothing: boys ~10
-Available on DVD: yes
B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least one of the two brothers (I think Martin Jobert with the darker hair) in Cowboy clothes. His brother filming him.

Looks like a quite interesting movie but I haven’s seen it completetly. English title: My Very Best Friend.

But I assume few or very few scenes.

So rating 4-5 for now.

Winnetous Sohn

Family film starring Uwe Ochsenknecht
-Year: 2015
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, girls ~9-11
-Available on DVD: yes
B&W or color: color
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Several boys and some girls partly in Western clothes. Most notable the chubby main character 10 yo Max with glasses (Lorenzo Germeno, also riding). Many kids and also grown-ups.

Has been aired yesterday, but I missed most parts. Very interesting. Not a real Western but about a play with good Western settings. Quite unusual.

I like chubby boys, but somehow not this one. Also of interest longhaired Tristan Göbel.

Needs to be rechecked later (available on the Kika mediathek),

For now rating 5 only.
