Bonanza – s1e16

Western series starring Lorne Greene
-Year: 1959-1973
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Epifanio 10
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Alan Robert (1948-2008) as Mexican boy barefoot in a red shirt, a grey vest and grey pants. Sometimes wearing a straw hat.

Had been aired today. (Unfortunately I often miss Bonanza on TV in the morning).

I haven’t seen this series in my childhood, but I think there are only few boys acting here. Fore more infos see the main entry (rating 4 as well).

Alan Robert also starred in the western “Last Train From Gun Hill”.

I prefer blond boys and jeans or even overalls. Talented actor though. Also in this episode. He offered his life for the bull.

Rating 3-4 for this episode.

New stats

2 new entries on TOP 1 and 2. And none of them are in my personal TOP 10.

I still have very few visitors, around 20 each day (just real clicks, general blog readers probably more). On weekends around 40 hits.

Visiting countries (all time)

US 1,173, Italy 150, Germany 76, UK 73, Turkey 40, Russia 39, France 38, Croatia 23.

Search tearms are too few to mention.

Most clicked tags (last week): boys, color, blond, film, riding, not-western, unknown actors, many kids.

Note that the TOP POST & PAGES (and TOP clicks) stats are gathered from the last 2 weeks (I think) and have very few clicks each (around 1-2 each), some a bit more. So they aren’t very informative (even on my bib overalls blog).┬á And after a while the All-Time stats are also not very informative and rarely change. Monthly stats would be better, but it’s hard work as I would have to do it manually unlike on blogspot blogs. And I don’t do it for all my blogs.

The Shooting (1966)

Western starring Jack Nicholson
-Year: 1966
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: “Woman” ~26
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least a young woman, probably Millie Perkins riding wearing a black cowboy hat. Scene at 33 minutes.

I’m still quite busy and have checked this movie some time ago (at high speed) and don’t remember much. I haven’t found any younger actors.

Maybe a quite interesting western with a strong woman but I can’t say much more yet.

Directed by Monte Hellman also starring Will Hutchins and Warren Oates.

Rating 2-3 for now.

Hochzeit auf Immenhof

-Year: 1956
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~11
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some boys (in this song scene at least 2) in cowboy clothes including black hat and I think chaps, also riding (but probably most from a distance). Also boys in Lederhosen and speedos.

I rechecked some of my TV recordings and found this. It’s part 2 of this famous Immenhof movie series. Also all 3 movies on my Lederhosenblog (up to rating 9 and even a girl in Lederhosen).

Unfortunately I don’t remember the complete movie and just found some short clips. This movie is also the worst of them with very few but quite good scenes of Lederhosen (rating 3), probably also few cowboy scenes.

Plot is about a ranch summer camp and here that they are about to loose their hotel. Set in the 1950s.

Rating 3-4 for now but needs rechecking completetly. Probably I don’t have this complete movie anymore and don’t know if I have the time to find and watch it on TV.

Christmas for a Dollar

Drama starring Brian Krause
-Year: 2013
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Norman ~10, boys, girls
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Jacob Buster (on left and on pic 2, also riding) and several other (teen) boys and girls.

From my bib overalls blog (rating 7). Almost the complete Christmas movie is set in 1931 California except for some very few and short (imaginary ?) western scenes. Mainly at the beginning, but also in between and the end.

Very interesting movie but for the brief western scenes I can only give rating 4. Many kids including girls and a nice western setting that’s quite rare especially for a non-western movie.

Many good pics (including the girls) on the official Facebook site.

For more infos see my other blog.

Savage Sam

Disney sequel to Old Yeller
-Year: 1963
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Arliss ~13, Travis ~21
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating: 6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Kevin Corcoran as Arliss in beige pants, also riding (looks like that his suspenders are down) I think also riding shirtless with suspenders on. Pic 1 from the trailer, pic 2 from Behind the scenes. Also starring now grown-up darkhaired Tommy Kirk (also riding, pants with suspenders). Also starring blond Marta Kristen (on horse as well). Probably not wearing a cowboy hat so no tagging women.

Happy New Year!

Another Disney movie. Definitely not as famous as the prequel “Old Yeller (1957)”, rating 6 also starring both.

Kevin is much older and a teen boy now so here more of interest than his brother. I don’t remember the complete movie but the plots seems more like a Western with Apaches and a trail. But it’s also about the family, the ranch and the dog. Novel by Fred Gipson. For more infos see Old Yeller.

Rating 6 for now.
