La notte dei serpenti

Western starring Luke Askew
-Year: 1969
-Country: Italy
-Who in clothing:  Paquito ~10 ?
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Luciano Casamonica in white or beige clothes including pants and a vest. A darker red or brown shirt undearneath.

English title Night of the Serpent (and Nest of Vipers).

I usually don’t like darkhaired kids with curyl hair, but maybe this isn’t that bad.

I have checked it some time ago (partly) , so I can’t remember much. But there are definitely better movies. I don’t like Italo westerns much anyway.

Rating 3 for now.

The Proud Rebel

Western starring Alan Ladd
-Year: 1958
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing:  kids ~5-12 yo
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating: 7/10 ?
-Rating: *******
-Comment: Several (blond) boys wearing hats and string ties and different clothes including ~10 yo David Ladd as David (nominated for a Golden Globe, in the middle, son of Alan Ladd). Also much younger boys and girls. This fighting scene is at 1h14. Also riding scenes (at 7 minutes).

This movie is into Public Domain but there should be a different (higher image quality) version as well.

I found this some time ago on YouTube but don’t remember much.

Novel by James Edward Grant. Directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca).

Looks very interesting, also the plot about this silent boy.

Rating 6-7 for now, but needs rechecking the next broadcasting or if I have more time.

Little House on the Prairie

Family/Western series
-Year: 1974-1983
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: boys, girls ~6-17
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating: 9/10
-Rating: *********
-Comment: Several boys and girls (preteen and teens) in different clothes, some in bib overalls including even a teen girl (see my overalls blog, rating up to 9, separate season entries).

Pic from s3e16 which had recently been aired. I always thought that this is Clay O’Brien but he only appeared in s2e6 (in overalls). Probably it’s Brian Part. Beige pants with suspenders. Also some girls.

Some famous boy actors in other episodes including Matthew Labyorteaux, Jason Bateman, Ike Eisenmann, Lance Kerwin and Mitch Vogel.

I like this series (although it mainly shows girls) but I prefer The Waltons which is set much later (1930s and 40s, so no western setting).

For more infos and pics see all my other blogs. Updates:

S1e3 Lance Kerwin and others, rating 7

Boys and girls in s1e20 and other episodes of season 1.

Boys and girl in s4e16, rating 6.

Si può fare… amigo

Western starring Bud Spencer
-Year: 1972
-Country: Italy, France, Spain
-Who in clothing: Chip ~9
-Available on DVD: yes
-B&W or color: color
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: I think blond Renato Cestiè in grey knickers and a brown jacket and a string tie and white stockings. Scene from the end of the movie. Probably also in other clothes and hat.

English title Halleluja…Amigo.

Had been aired yesterday (I missed most of it but have seen it not long time ago.)

I don’t like Italo westerns and often there are few or no young actors.

I think knickers are quite rare in westerns. I like blond boys but somehow I don’t like him here.

Rating 4 only.
