This is my 4th blog about feature films, TV series and documentaries with clothes of mainly kids and teens in Western movies. Have fun. You will find here informations, trailer videos, low-res images and personal comments/ratings. You will not find here complete videos, download links, shopping links etc.
Western series, 60 ep, Michael Ansara -Year: 1959-1960 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Clint ~14, girl ~9 ? -Available on DVD: yes *
–B&W or color: b&w -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: At least 14 or 15 yo Don Grady in s1e14 in beige pants and a dark vest. Also a girl in long pigtails in s1e20 (also soon on my pigtails blog, rating ~7).
Maybe more younger actors?
Rating 5-6 for now.
There are DVD-R offers, maybe not officially released, or PD?
Western series, 452 ep, host Ronald Reagan -Year: 1952-1970 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~10-15, women ? -Available on DVD: yes, partly
–B&W or color: b&w, color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: Some (teen) boys, girls and women in Western clothes.
I don’t know the complete series. There were many supporting actors. I only found some few kids including 12 yo Mitch Vogel (“Bonanza”) in s18e4 (color) and Donna Corcoran and others in s2e6 Dear Teacher (pics 2-4). By coincidence I later found a boy (Danny Flower ?) in bib overalls in s13e9 (pic 1, more pics and infos soon on my overalls blog).
Pic 5 showing a young lady in a Cowboy hat in s1e15, maybe Sheila Ryan?
Rating at least 5-6 for now. More episodes needs to be rechecked. Only partly on DVD.
Western series, 146 ep -Year: 1956-1961 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~9-11 ? -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: b&w -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low ? -Rating: 6/10 ? -Rating:****** -Comment: Some boys and girls in typical western clothes (pants with suspenders). Pic 1 from s1e10 (maybe showing Jimmy Baird (“Fury”)?). In s1e12 there are kids at school. Pic soon on my pigtails blog (rating 4).
Robert aka Bobby Crawford in bib overalls in s5e3 (soon on my bib overalls blog, rating ~6-7). Don Grady in s4e10+11.
I don’t know all episodes but assume rather few scenes of younger actors.
Rating 4 for s1e10+12, probably higher rating for the others. I thought, I already had an entry.
I found 2 more interesting and even better scenes in a German trailer. So I don’t know from what episodes they are.
Nice light brown and blue shirts. Handsome actors. Not sure about their names. Pic 2 probably showing the main character Andy, played by Dennis Holmes (although he looks younger). Pic 1 probably showing him as well in a later episode? Season 1+2 are b&w.
Western series starring Lorne Greene -Year: 1959-1973 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: teen boys ~14-18 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: often -Rating: 7/10 -Rating:******* -Comment: Next to Mitch Vogel, there are several other (famous) teen boys acting in this 1972 episode “The Initiation”. Ron Howard (pic 3 on left), Nicolas Beauvy (pic 2), James Van Patten (pic 4 on right ?), Alfred Barker Jr. and Sean Kelly (both also in “The Cowboys 1972” like Nicolas Beauvy), Jeff Smart (“Bless the Beasts & Children”) and some more.
Several scenes of them. Many wearing vests and hats.
I recently find this by searching for Hog Wild (1974) starring Nicolas Beauvy in wet bib overalls (other blog rating 7, still missing pics).
Western, comedy film. Ann Sheridan -Year: 1953 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boys ~5, 7, 9 ? -Available on DVD: no
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording ? -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: 3 young, blonde boys (motherless) in nice Western clothes and hats. Not sure about their names. One is probably Mickey Little (*1941, “Annie Oakley”, Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett), others maybe Jimmy Karath (1942-2014) and Jerry Wayne. The latter one is credited as boy on IMDb but born in 1916. Probably another mistake there. The 3rd boy (on right ?) is obviously Lee Aaker (*1943, “Hondo“, The Brush Roper), up to rating 8.
Interesting movie, but I only have checked it roughly. I think, I have seen it many years ago. The boys also wore red striped bathing costumes.
Rating 5-6 for now. Boys are very young. Needs to be rechecked the next airing. I think not officially on DVD.
Western starring Glenn Ford -Year: 1953 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Carlos ~13, boy, girl -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium- ? -Rating: 4/10 ? -Rating:**** -Comment: Marc Cavell (1939-2004) as Mexican boy Carlos in typical Mexican clothes (pic 2). Also at least a younger boy (maybe Erik Nelson) and girl (Patsy Weil ?) in at least 2 scenes. Pictured at the end.
Has been aired last week, but I missed most of it. I don’t like the Mexican teen boy in black, curly hair. The younger kids are more of interest.
Western starring Barbara Stanwyck -Year: 1954 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Sierra Nevada ~46 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 2/10 ? -Rating:** -Comment: At least Barbara Stanwyck as Sierra Nevada Jones, the Cattle Queen in dark blue and also dark brown pants, a Cowboy hat and a gun belt. Also riding (in both pants).
I don’t remember the complete movie and don’t noticed younger actors. I found it some time ago.
Rating 2-3 for now only. Typical western, at least with a strong woman.
Family fantasy film -Year: 1959 -Country: Mexico -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~5-8 ? -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: yes, TV recording -Clothing occurence: low+ -Rating: 2/10 -Rating:** -Comment: Some young and very young Mexican boys and girls in typical Mexican clothes and some few US Cowboys kids and several other kids of some other nations including Chinese and a boy in Lederhosen. Girls mainly in dark pigtails.
Has recently been aired in the German Schlefaz movie series (worst movies of all times).
The movie is indeed unusual and poor. But interesting for these days. There are some movies which are even worse.
Kids are also very young. Rather few scenes of interest. Partly shown from a distance.
So rating 2 only. Soon on my Lederhosen blog (rating 3).
