This is my 4th blog about feature films, TV series and documentaries with clothes of mainly kids and teens in Western movies. Have fun. You will find here informations, trailer videos, low-res images and personal comments/ratings. You will not find here complete videos, download links, shopping links etc.
I found 2 more interesting and even better scenes in a German trailer. So I don’t know from what episodes they are.
Nice light brown and blue shirts. Handsome actors. Not sure about their names. Pic 2 probably showing the main character Andy, played by Dennis Holmes (although he looks younger). Pic 1 probably showing him as well in a later episode? Season 1+2 are b&w.
Western series James Stacy, 51 ep -Year: 1968-1970 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Andy ~14, Willie 15, Willy 14, boys, girls -Available on DVD: no *
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low+ ? -Rating: 7/10 ? -Rating:******* -Comment: At least 14 or 15 yo Bill Mumy as Andy (pic 1) in a light blue shirt, beige pants with a belt and a grey Cowboy hat. Pic from s2e3 The Kid. Also Clint Howard as Willie in light blue bib overalls in s2e14 (pic 4, soon also on my overalls blog). Very interesting episode is s1e25 with many kids (mostly uncredited on IMDb) in and outside a school (including girls) and ~14 yo Ron Howard (pic 3 standing in light blue jeans) and also a young blonde boy in pants with suspenders.
Lots of guest stars including Victor French, Jonathan Harris and many more. As younger kid also Johnny Whitaker (“Tom Sawyer 1973”). But I don’t know all episodes.
I found this by coincidence. Rating 7 for now. Needs to be rechecked. Partly on YouTube but in a bad quality. There is or was a DVD set, maybe inofficial DVDr?
Western starring Henry Fonda -Year: 1967 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Jimmy ~14 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium+ -Rating: 7/10 ? -Rating:******* -Comment: 14 or 15 yo Michael Shea in an olive shirt, a brown vest and blue jeans (also sitting). Also in a night shirt.
I found some parts on one of my old VHS tapes. But I have check the complete movie more carefully (no riding scenes ?).
Obviously several (good) scenes. Also a nice bedroom scene (soon on my other blog, rating ~6).
Comedy musical film -Year: 1962 -Country: Spain, Mexico -Who in clothing: boy ~11, girl -Available on DVD: no
–B&W or color: b&w -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: I think this is the famous Mexican boy actor Cesáreo Quezadas ‘Pulgarcito’ in jeans and a Cowboy hat. I think role swap with a girl. Uncredited character names. Title means Boy or girl?
I found it by coincidence and only checked it briefly. Pulgarcito also starred in Santa Claus (1959), rating 2.
There’s also a real girl in pigtails, also riding (soon on my pigtails blog, rating 4).
Winnetou film starring Lex Barker -Year: 1964 -Country: D, F, I, YU -Who in clothing: Tom ~9 ? -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 7/10 ? -Rating:******* -Comment: At least this young blonde boy, Tom aka Burschi Putzgruber in a red shirt and dark blue pants and scarf. Also riding. Several scenes with him.
Has recently been aired but I haven’t seen it completetly. Somehow I’m not a fan of Winnetou. So that’s why I haven’t found it before.
But this is obviously one with the most scenes of a handsome boy. Most other movies I have are rating 2-3.
Western starring Pierre Brice -Year: 1965 -Country: Germany, Yu -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~5-10 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: yes, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: low -Rating: 3/10 ? -Rating:*** -Comment: Some boys and girls (but mainly younger boys) in typical clothes. Boys in pants with suspenders and girls in dresses, some with pigtails.
Part 3 of 4 from the recent Western special broadcasting day.
Typical German Winnetou Western, but I don’t like them and only noticed few good scenes of younger actors. Der Ölprinz (rating 5) has better scenes. Maybe they are even the same kids?
So rating 3-4 only.
Please also note my new 5th blog about Pigtails (f/m). Many of them are/will be Western movies as well.
Western starring John Wayne -Year: 1962 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~9 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: b&w -I own: yes, TV recording -Clothing occurence: low -Rating: 3/10 -Rating:*** -Comment: Some boys and girls, around 9yo, some few a bit younger, in an one-room schoolhouse. Mainly Mexican looking boys. Shirts and pants without suspenders. Also at least one older teen girl. Most or all have pigtails.
Part 2 of the recent Western TV weekend.
Typical b&w western. I think very few scenes of the kids. Also starring James Stewart.
Western starring Stewart Granger -Year: 1965 -Country: Germany, Yu -Who in clothing: boys, girls ~5-10 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: yes, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: low -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: Some, mainly younger kids, boys and girls in different clothes. A boy in beige pants with H-style suspenders, one in a brown suit, another in pants (jeans) and a green shirt. The kids are singing, conducted by Heinz Erhardt.
Girls in pigtails, some in sailor-style dresses. Also some women.
Some other scenes of (this and/or other) kids, but mainly from a distance and in the background.
Starring Pierre Brice, Terence Hill and many others. A similar Karl May movie has been aired before that (coming soon).
Rating 5 only. Somehow I never paid much attention to Winntou movies and most I don’t like.
Western series starring Lorne Greene -Year: 1959-1973 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Tommy ~6 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: yes, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 4/10 -Rating:**** -Comment: Blonde Teddy Quinn as deaf-mute boy Tommy in s8e14 (1966). Typical brown clothes (pants and vest) and a red shirt. He also starred in s11e3 (1969, needs to be checked) and in other series like “The Virginian (1962)” rating 4 starring Bill Mumy and Kurt Russell.
Comedy stage play broadcast -Year: 1963 -Country: Germany -Who in clothing: Peter ~15 -What clothes: jeans, hat, western shirt -Available on DVD: yes -B&W or color: b&w -I own: yes, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: very low -Rating: 3/10 -Rating:*** -Comment: Peter Garbas around 15 or 16 (exact age unknown) in dark (blue ?) jeans, a checkered shirt a Cowboy hat and carrying a rope. Brief scene around in the middle of the movie. Also in a long sailor suit (that blog rating 3 as well) and a long white night shirt.
As announced on my other blog a quite good and funny play. Many scenes in jeans and that shirt but mostly without the hat and rope. Set in Hamburg in the presence (1960s).
