This is my 4th blog about feature films, TV series and documentaries with clothes of mainly kids and teens in Western movies. Have fun. You will find here informations, trailer videos, low-res images and personal comments/ratings. You will not find here complete videos, download links, shopping links etc.
Educational series -Year: 1999-2005 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boy, girl ~10-12 -Available on DVD: partly VHS
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: very low ? -Rating: 5/10 -Rating:***** -Comment: At least this kids in Cowboy hats and jeans in s4e1. One even costumed as cow.
Also several girls and teen girls in bib overalls (other blog rating 6).
I don’t know all episodes. I have to check more, but I assume very few Western scenes.
Western, comedy film. Ann Sheridan -Year: 1953 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: boys ~5, 7, 9 ? -Available on DVD: no
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording ? -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: 3 young, blonde boys (motherless) in nice Western clothes and hats. Not sure about their names. One is probably Mickey Little (*1941, “Annie Oakley”, Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett), others maybe Jimmy Karath (1942-2014) and Jerry Wayne. The latter one is credited as boy on IMDb but born in 1916. Probably another mistake there. The 3rd boy (on right ?) is obviously Lee Aaker (*1943, “Hondo“, The Brush Roper), up to rating 8.
Interesting movie, but I only have checked it roughly. I think, I have seen it many years ago. The boys also wore red striped bathing costumes.
Rating 5-6 for now. Boys are very young. Needs to be rechecked the next airing. I think not officially on DVD.
Adventure film. Disney-Land s24e2 -Year: 1976 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Davie ~13, Thud ~10 -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: Blonde Johnny Doran in grey checkered pants with suspenders and also a dark suit, and black boy Billy ‘Pop’ Atmore in beige bib overalls (other blog, rating 5).
Interesting, but typical looking Disney Western. I didn’t had the time yet to watch the complete movie.
Rating 5-6 for now.
For more infos and pics see my other blog.
Novel by Robert Lewis Taylor (“The Travels of Jamie McPheeters”, also “Guns of Diablo”
Johnny Doran also appeared in LHOTP (s4e6) and some other series like the “ABC Afterschool Specials” 1977 episode “The Pinballs” (bedroom blog, rating 7) and Salty, rating 6.
Christian Kids songs videos -Year: 2017 ? -Country: Germany -Who in clothing: girls -Available on DVD: yes ?
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: medium- -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: Some girls in fancy, red / white Western clothes, dancing. Also later as Indians. I think as well, girls only. Also a girl in green bib overalls (other blog, rating 5). Episode: Cowboys und Indianer.
Available on the bibeltv mediathek (-> Sendereihen).
Interesting clothes. Unfortunately no boys (but in other episodes).
TV film about grown up Tom & Huck -Year: 1990 -Country: USA -Who in clothing: Marcus ~10 ? -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium- ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: At least Canadian Zachary Bennett in beige bib overalls and a straw hat (looking like Huck Finn, but isn’t)
As this is a story about grown up Tom and Huck, the setting must be around 1870s (or even later around 1900s).
This movie is now available on DVD, but I still haven’t seen it completetly.
One more pic, from an old, partial VHS recording on my bib overalls blog, rating 5.
Family adventure series -Year: 1992 -Country: Australia -Who in clothing: boy ~11 ? -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low+ ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: At least this boy in s1e17 “Skippy & the Cowboy”. IMDb says s1e17 is “Skippy and the Stuntman” what is obviously wrong, again. Also a woman with a flat hat, but not a Cowboy hat. Maybe also riding?
Kid’s Western about an Indian Boy and a horse -Year: 1984 -Country: Canada -Who in clothing: boys ~11, girls -Available on DVD: yes
–B&W or color: color -I own: no, partly TV recording -Clothing occurence: medium ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: Several boys and girls, blonde and darkhaired (also all muddy), at least 2 or 3 boys in bib overalls (overalls blog rating 5) and also this darkhaired, Indian boy, also riding.
Completely on YouTube in German under the wrong title “Der weiße Hengst”.
I only have checked it briefly as I thought, I had enough pics on my other blog. Needs to be rechecked more carefully, later.
Comedy musical film -Year: 1962 -Country: Spain, Mexico -Who in clothing: boy ~11, girl -Available on DVD: no
–B&W or color: b&w -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low ? -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: I think this is the famous Mexican boy actor Cesáreo Quezadas ‘Pulgarcito’ in jeans and a Cowboy hat. I think role swap with a girl. Uncredited character names. Title means Boy or girl?
I found it by coincidence and only checked it briefly. Pulgarcito also starred in Santa Claus (1959), rating 2.
There’s also a real girl in pigtails, also riding (soon on my pigtails blog, rating 4).
Kids documentary series -Year: 1999- -Country: D / USA -Who in clothing: Crowley 11 -Available on DVD: no
–B&W or color: color -I own: no -Clothing occurence: low * -Rating: 5/10 ? -Rating:***** -Comment: At least one darkhaired, US ranch and rodeo boy called Crowley from Colorado in blue jeans and a high Cowboy hat in the 2016 episode “Crowley – Jeder Cowboy braucht ein Pferd”. Riding in chaps while branding. Also other good sitting scenes but he even looks younger than 11 yo. Also some few other boys, but probably not wearing hats.
He even brushes his tooth in a Cowboy hat.
German production, maybe filmed a bit earlier. 15 minutes. Available on the ZDF mediathek.
Rating 5-6 only, although I like chaps.
For more infos about this series check out my bib overalls blog (rating 6 / 4 ) and my shiny shorts blog (rating 6).
